Toddlers and preschoolers who love stickers will be thrilled with the perfect age-appropriate activities in the Sticker Learning Set. Here’s what we thought.

The Sticker Learning Set includes two fantastic books for ages 2+ the Gaaken Play Smart My First Sticker Activity Book and the I Can Do That! Sticker Superstar. They are included in the Timberdoodle Preschool Kit or as an individual set.

A special thanks to Timberdoodle Co. for providing us with a complimentary copy of Sticker Learning Set in exchange for our honest review. All opinions are our own!

My son is 2.5 years old and loves stickers. He’s still learning directions, following instructions, etc., so I really value the gradual increase in difficulty that these books offer. Both books feature thick glossy paper that is perfect for little toddler hands and is resistant to tearing and crumpling. It also makes it easier to peel off the stickers and reposition them if needed, which happened to us a lot!

My First Sticker Activity Book

With over 90 activity pages and 200+ stickers, the My First Activity Book is filled with delightful, simple pages that build fine-motor skills, encourage observation, and strengthen spatial reasoning. I love the compact size that’s easy to slip into the diaper bag or purse. We worked on these pages out and about and it was a great way to engage and distract my toddler.

The front side of each page has a simple sticker activity, while the backside features another activity that might include drawing lines, matching, beginning counting, naming objects and animals, seek and find and much more.

Featuring 3 levels of difficulty to guide children as they grow and develop. In level 1, they can place stickers freely on the page. In level 2, they are asked to place stickers in specific places. In level 3, they must follow specific instructions about where to place the stickers.

At 2.5 my son still needs quite a bit of help and direction to do these activities, but it’s a fun and engaging project for us to do together. I read the directions to him and help him peel off the stickers. Then we talk about where the sticker could go (sometimes why). The activity on the backpage is often a little more challenging for him as it’s drawing, identifying, and matching things, but he’s learning and we do it together.

Sticker Superstar

The Gaaken I Can Do That! Sticker Superstar is filled with 40 simple activities and 500 stickers for ages 2 and up.

This book is slightly more advanced than the My First Sticker Activity Book with smaller stickers, more detailed tasks, and multiple instructions on some pages. It’s still very do-able for 2-3-year-olds, but it does require a little more guidance from the parent for younger children.

The smaller stickers are a little more challenging for my son and he asked for help a lot. I kept encouraging him to try it himself and eventually he started doing it correctly. When the directions were too detailed and his attention wasn’t focused, I skipped some of the stickers and will try them again at a later time.

I really like the variety of activities presented in Sticker Superstar. There are mazes, matching, open-ended decorating, shapes, counting, creating scenes, and so much more. An older or more advanced child could probably be read the directions and left to independently finish each page, but a younger child will need some guidance to complete them.

Personally, I enjoy doing these pages together with my son as it encourages conversation, helps me to evaluate his level of understanding, and thus tailor his learning experience just for him.

Many of the pages feature multi-step directions which are phenomenal for helping children make those “this then that” connections that are a foundation of thinking skills (and as such, all learning!).

At 2.5 our Tot-School isn’t quite up to preschool standards for a 3-4 year old, but we are slowly working our way through very introductory academics.

These sticker books are a wonderful compliment as they introduce him to math and language skills in a quick and fun way.
